Logan: sleeping in your car

Vehicle camping: prohibited

Logan City Council's local laws changed in 2022 to prohibit camping on council owned or controlled land, including roadsides, footpaths, road reserves, parks and other public places. The council states the changes are not meant to affect people stopping for short periods during the day or when vehicles are broken down.

The prohibition covers council owned or controlled land; state rest areas sit on the state-controlled road network. The council notes the rules are not meant to affect short daytime stops or broken-down vehicles, and points people experiencing hardship to local support services.
