Sleeping in your car in Tennant Creek

Prohibited by by-law

In Tennant Creek it is an offence to sleep in a public place, including in a motor vehicle, otherwise than in a caravan park or camping area or under a permit.

The oldest of the five, and the bluntest: sleeping in a public place is the offence, and the by-law says “including in a motor vehicle” so there is no argument to be had about whether a car counts. These by-laws were made for the former Tennant Creek Town Council and apply to that area.

Signs override this page. Whatever is signed at the site is the rule that applies, no matter what is written here.
